Dear Friends,

Welcome to the orchestra’s THIRTY-EIGHTH year of continuous musical performances.

Beginning this fall, it will be my pleasure to offer you a full season of entertainment and the best that ashland has to offer.  Our 38th season brings to you "A Season of Entertainment - From Bach to Broadway" with some very entertaining selections from Broadway as well as some entertaining classics including the Tchaikovsky Serenade for Strings.

We are pleased to welcome international soloists, soprano Melanie Helton, returning mezzo-soprano Alison Tupay, tenor Matthew Garrett and both John and Nancy Shuffle.  Also featured this season from our own backyard, the Ashland Regional Ballet/Tap Company to perform on the McDowell Auditorium stage.  I am also happy to report that the “Family Holiday Pops” and the free “Young People’s Concert” will return again this season....concerts that have become very popular in this area.

We are committed to offering you the best repertoire, performing each note with care and attention as we strive to make every moment that occurs at an ASO concert a wonderful musical experience.

In celebrating this upcoming season, I invite you to renew, or join anew, the growing community of listeners who value the experience of great music in a live performance setting. By subscribing now, you will be assured of your own reserved seats at specially discounted prices.

On behalf of the Ashland Symphony Orchestra - musicians, board and staff - thank you for making our 38th season possible.

See you at the symphony!

Arie Lipsky
