Principal clarinetist and local favorite Thomas Reed will perform Copland's Concerto for Clarinet.  This piece was commissioned in 1947 by jazz clarinetist Benny Goodman.  The concerto blends Copland's expansive musical textures with the rhythmic vitality of jazz.
